My report on those goals are: first, get A's in college. Well I have since graduated, but my last two semesters I did get straight A's.  Second, I wanted to Lose 2o lbs. I lost 35 lbs and now weigh what I did in High School. Third, I wanted to make a rock hard budget. I do admit I haven't succeeded as well on this one as the first two. Shellie and I make a lot less money then we did a year ago, and we still are doing OK, so I guess you could say we are starting to get things in order.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;New goals for this year are: First, Stop drinking pop/real or fake sugar drinks. I want to just drink Water or fresh juice. This is just part of the new healthy lifestyle I am trying to live. Second, run a half marathon in 1hr 45min. I ran my first half last year and it took me 1hr 55min, so I want to do better. I am also running my first race this year with Libby in Salt Lake City and I told her I would beat her time by half. Third, get my survey licence in Arizona &amp;amp; Nevada. I want to move back to St. George. Most Surveyors down there are licenced in all three states, so to better help me get a job; I need to be licenced in all three states. My hurdle is, I need to take each states specific test and then pay all the fees which will be about a $1000. I am already working and doing well on my goals. I haven't drank any pop for the last 20 days. We got a family pass to the Olympic oval, because they have an indoor track, so I am running a few times a week. I also wake up each morning at six to do strength training. Well, I have decided what to do with my life, at least for the next year or two.  I am going to go to SUU and get me a bachelors degree in English.  I haven't been doing too well with the nail biting, but I am not as bad as I could be.  So far I have read 13 books this year, and I have finished the Book of Mormon, finally!  I am saving my money like crazy, especially since I will be moving out in about two months and living on my own! Which I am very excited and nervous about.  I have been a lot more positive lately, especially after reading &lt;em&gt;The Power of Positive Thinking.&lt;/em&gt;  That book really inspired me.  I have been doing some scrapbooking.  In fact I think that I got about four pages done, since the beginning of this year.  So that is how my goals are going so far.&lt;br /&gt;Now, I think that everyone who is participating in this blog should post about how their goals are going for this year.  We should not put this blog to waist.  It is a great idea and since it is the middle of the year I think we all need a reminder to work on our goals, I know I do! I haven't quite finished reading the book but I have already noticed a difference in my attitude.  This book is full of great advice on how to think more positively about everything. type='text'>How Did I Do?</title><content type='html'>So the year is almost over and here is a summary of how I did with my goals for this year.  My first goal was to Be Positive.  For the most part I think that I was positive most of the time.  I had some bad days but I blame school and stress for those days.  My second goal was to learn how to budget.  From about January to May I had to budget for my finance class that I was taking, after that semester I've been better with my money but I haven't really kept a budget.  My third goal was to quit biting my nails.  I didn't really accomplish this goal.  I don't bite my nails a lot, I more like trim my nails when they get too long for me.  My final goal was to read 25 books this year.  I did not accomplish that goal like I wanted too.  I thought that since I was taking three literature classes this year that I would be able to reach that goal but the truth is I sparknoted a lot of the books I had to read for my classes!!! I did read 18 books and there is still two weeks until the end of the year I am hoping to be able to get a few more books in by then.  Some of the things that I have accomplished this year are graduating from Institute back in April, and graduating from Dixie State College with my associates of Science this month!! I can't start the day without a 2 hour workout(5-7am)! I felt like I leveled off with running and I wasn't getting any faster(I needed some endurance Training)! I have also been wanting to get lean, and saw an ad for P90x about a year ago! Well I have started the program, I love it. Now I have been working out for a long time, I usually work out 6-7 days a week for 2 hours! This program is kicking my butt! I have sore muscles in places I never thought I even had muscles I even almost throw-up half way through some of the DVDs! I need to start a budget as well.  I don't have a steady flow of income, yet I feel like I have all the money in the world...NOT SO!!!  The only thing that I remotely am doing correct is paying my tithing and the rest...well I'm just hoping for the best!  I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do this budget, but all I know is I need to make a budget and stay with it!  At one time, oh about six months ago (prior to Alaska) I was doing so good with budgeting...I think it helped that I had a steady flow of bills to pay and I had a steady flow of income.  I really need to figure something out for my money and finances.  I think maybe the Internet has to have something on setting up a budget and sticking to it!  My two pieces of advice I've stuck by are this.  1.  I always make sure the first check I write out when I do my bills is my tithing, then I stick it in the mail - get it out of my hands...otherwise (since I'm kind of inactive) it won't make it to the bishop and forgive me for saying this...I'm screwed on getting it to him!  I FOR SURE have a testimony of tithing and know that by paying it I have been able to stay out of dept and have the money I need to get by.  (Now I just need to stay active and I might get more blessings???)  2.  I always put a percentage of my paycheck into one of my savings account.  I have a savings account with my checking account, BUT I have a savings account in a bank across town (St. George - since I'm in Kanarraville) that the only way I can get money out of there is by going there physically and pulling it out myself.  BUT I also have a direct deposit set up through work that puts the money in there...so I basically never get to that bank, yet I keep having this money pile up.  That's it! I am getting older and it seams all I think about is what I want now instead of planning for the future. I am trying to think back to how our parents lived and follow their examples. We are such a spoiled generation. The budget is just a beginning point for a lot of goals, like getting that four Wheeler payed for and other things. I am trying to enter all the receipts on the computer as soon as I get home for the day, so I always know how much money we have left. Also to save money, I take water and snacks to work to save on the gas station visits. That should also help with the 20lbs I need to still lose. When it comes to lunches, I try to take a sack lunch, or the 99 cent value menus are my best friend. Any other tips would be appreciated. I can never remember from one day to the next how many miles I ran.  Right now I have been doing 37 minutes with a 5 minute cool down on the treadmill - but I can never remember how many miles I ended up running.  Believe me it's not many, however, I do get over two miles.  Yeah buddy!  Anyhow, I think that by keeping a journal this will help me to stay on top of things and work my way up! I have a couple &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;dilemma's&lt;/span&gt; - The Salt Lake Marathon is on April 18&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt;. But they also have a half marathon which I am thinking about running instead of the full one. I really want to run the St. George Marathon, and training in the summer would be 10x more fun than training in the winter. In the winter you get to run on a treadmill, after 6 miles I am so bored. Plus my speed and pace outside is way better than on a treadmill. You could run the half marathon with me up here it wouldn't be too hard to train and be able to run 13 miles, by &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;April&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;Here is my other &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;dilemma&lt;/span&gt; - weight - I like the weight I am at although I am 10 pounds less than my actual goal. I am &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;OK&lt;/span&gt; where I am right now but don't want to loose anymore weight. So if I start to train and loose any weight then I will stop training until I can force myself to eat more, before I start training again. If that makes sense.
